Luiz Carlos da Costa is an electrical engineer with a master's degree and PhD in Operations Research. He joined PSR in 2002, where he is a partner and Technical Director in the Optimization and Analytics area. He started his career working in energy studies and system modeling, moving on to researching methodologies for operation planning, expansion, reliability, cost allocation, among others. For many years he was the main developer of SDDP, PSR's main tool for operation planning under uncertainty, of which he is currently the coordinator. He is also involved in the coordination of other PSR analytical tools, ranging from methodology to data management and high performance computing. He has extensive international experience, having participated in training, support, conferences and projects in the Americas, Europe and Asia.
